Washington, D.C.- The KDES Wildcats rallied from a first-set deficit to earn a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles on Wednesday afternoon at the KDES Gym. After dropping the opening set 19-25, KDES responded with a strong performance in the second set, using disciplined play and key rallies to secure a 25-21 win and even the match.

The Wildcats carried that momentum into the decisive third set, battling through a tightly contested frame before closing out the comeback with a 15-12 victory. The victory also marks the first win in program history for the Wildcats' middle school boys volleyball team.

On Thursday May 7th, KDES will travel to face the Maryland School for the Deaf- Frederick at Benson Gym for the first-ever quad volleyball tournament. The Wildcats open tournament play at 4:00 PM against MSD-F Orange, followed by a 4:40 PM matchup against MSD-F Black and a 5:20 PM contest against MSD-Columbia. Based on pool play results, KDES will advance to either the Third/Fourth Place Match or the Championship Match at 6:00 PM.
