The MSSD Eagles softball team earned an exciting 8–5 victory over DC International on Thursday night at Gallaudet University, improving their record 5-0 and continuing their strong season.

Despite falling behind early, the Eagles showed resilience. MSSD trailed 3–0 after the first inning and 5–3 in the second, but quickly responded and took control of the game through the fifth inning to secure the win.

Freshman Vyoletta Santos led the way in the circle, pitching 3.2 innings with 9 strikeouts while allowing just one hit. Her performance helped shut down DC International's offense after the early innings.

Offensively, the Eagles were consistent throughout the game, scoring runs in every inning to complete the comeback.

The game was played under the lights in breezy, 70-degree weather, with an attendance of approximately 70 fans.

MSSD will look to keep the momentum going as they face rival Maryland School for the Deaf on Tuesday, March 31 at 7:00 PM under the lights at Gallaudet Softball Field. Come out and support the Eagles for what promises to be an exciting matchup.
